For Lock Screen widgets, iOS desaturates text, images, and gauges into monochrome and creates a vibrant effect by coloring your content appropriately for the Lock Screen background. People can also color the Lock Screen to a colored tint.

How do I add widgets to my lock screen?

Step 1

Find a GIF you like inside the Lively Widget App. Tap on the GIF you want and add the GIF to your Favorites Folder.

Step 2

For lock screen widgets
You long-press the lock screen to enter lock screen gallery mode. Press customize, and you will enter the lock screen edit mode. Look for "Lively Widgets" in themenu below and tap on it. Select your desired widget size and then drag it to the desired place. Tap on the widget once again to select your GIF!

For home screen widgets
You long-press the blank area on the home screen until you enter the edit mode. Then press the plus + button at the top left corner of the home screen. Look for "Lively Widgets" in the menu below and tap on it. Select your desired widget size and then drag it to the desired place. Long press on the widget once again toselect your GIF!

You have to enter the lock screen edit mode. When you tap the widget, a menu will pop up and allow you to select your desired GIF inside your "Favorites" folder.

For home screen widgets
You long press the widget until a menu pops up. If you press "Edit widget", you can select your desired GIF.

For home screen widgets
You long-press the blank area on the home screen until you enter the edit mode. Then press the minus button at the top left corner of the widget you want to remove.

Why do I only see the Lively Widget logo in my widgets?

This is the placeholder of the widget when you first place a widget in your lock screen or home screen.

For lock screen widgets
You have to enter the lock screen edit mode. When you tap the widget, a menu will pop up and allow you to select your desired GIF inside your "favorites" folder for the widget.

For home screen widgets
You long-press the widget until a menu pops up. If you then press "Edit widget", you can select your desired GIF for your widget.

My widgets stopped moving, why?

The workaround is to press the widget or open our Lively Widget app, and the widgets will start moving again.

Currently, the iOS system has some limitations on widget technology, making the animated widgets stop moving for a while. The main reason is that Apple has an algorithm to optimize the refresh rate of the widgets to save battery.

Will Lively Widget include more GIFs in the future?

Yes, we will update and increase our GIF database to provide more choices for our users every month, hoping to reach 2000+, 3000+ GIFs, and so on in the future!
Also, when our Lively Widget Creator Program is live, user can upload their content on our platform. Our GIF database will grow exponentially from that time onwards.
